A catalytic route to zero waste
Pathway To Zero Waste is a major transformation programme combined with market and infrastructure development. It will radically change how the private and public sectors work together to improve resource efficiency and waste management in the South East.
Time is of the essence; landfill capacity in the South East will run out within five years. Success requires a bold and innovative approach, as incremental improvements to planning, procurement and partnership working will not produce results quickly enough.
Pathway To Zero Waste will act as a catalyst for change. We will focus on delivering quick wins which, as well as having a significant and enduring impact, will also increase the pace of change, generating momentum that will see the region continuously accelerate to zero waste.
