PTZW construction & demolition waste workshop
Date: March 31st 2009
Following on from its highly successful launch event in March 2009, PTZW is holding a construction and demolition waste workshop and networking lunch in Reading on Wednesday, April 22.
The event is aimed at organisations involved in every stage of the build process including clients from all sectors, architects and designers, construction contractors, waste management companies and local authorities.
Attendees will learn how PTZW is working with the private and public sectors to transform the way the region views and manages business waste – which accounts for 80% of all waste in the South East - and the opportunities this presents for them. PTZW’s ultimate aim is to create a culture of resource efficiency that will see business waste volumes greatly reduced, with far more material reused, recycled or converted to energy instead of being sent to landfill.
The workshop programme includes:
PTZW’s catalytic route to change: delivering a £370m benefit to the South East’s economy
Chindarat Taylor, Director – PTZW
Construction materials three year forecast: demand, potential waste volumes and recycling infrastructure hotspots in the South East
Derek Rees, Chief Executive, South East Centre for the Built Environment
Helping construction clients maximise profit by minimising waste
James Copperwait, Managing Director, Focus Environmental Services
Potential market mechanisms for trading in reusable waste materials
Hugh Smith, Business Development Consultant, London Remade
The workshop is being held at the Innovation Centre, Defra, 5th Floor, Northgate House, 21-23 Valpy Street, Reading, RG1 1AR. It runs from 09.30-13.00 and is followed by lunch.
