PTZW’s launch event began with a welcome address from SEEDA Chairman James Brathwaite CBE, in which he explained, “We want to make sure the economy keeps on growing, but don’t want to be producing the same volume of waste in the future.” This was followed by a short film in which The Rt Hon Hilary Benn MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs pledged his personal support for PTZW and commended its founding partners, saying: “I congratulate you for joining forces and providing the inspiration and energy to get this important initiative off the ground. It is a bold step towards the sustainable, low carbon, zero waste economy that we all want to achieve.”
