Building greener 2011: Sustainable construction in the South East
Exhibition and workshops showcasing sustainably sourced and recycled content products with a construction sector focus. The event’s aims are:

  • to helping construction SMEs to ‘buy greener’ by finding sustainable suppliers in the South East
  • to demonstrate practical experiences of buying greener construction products and services
  • to highlight what construction SMEs can do to meet environmental requirements for sustainable supply.


As well as meeting new suppliers and manufacturers of sustainable construction products, attendees can also have questions answered by a panel of specialists ad take part in interactive workshops including ‘write the tender spec’ and ‘winning public sector contracts’ There will also be the opportunity to join one of two guided tours of local best practice construction sites.

Refreshments and a networking lunch are included.

Review of Sustainable Construction Opportunities in the South East
This event will provide an overview of key points and findings from the previous workshops (listed above) and will discuss future trends and opportunities.

Key topics will include:

  • site waste management plans
  • hazardous waste
  • alternative materials
  • re-use centres
  • carbon footprinting
  • sustainable refurbishment.


Lunch and a visit to a local best practice construction site are included.
