By 2010 SEEDA's target is to have 10,000 more women-owned businesses in the region.
This ambitious goal reflects the significant potential of women to start a business in the region. SEEDA is working with partners, particularly Business Link, to release the potential of Women's Enterprise in the South East. Our support will make a significant contribution in transforming the lives of individual women, their families and communities particularly in disadvantaged areas.

Our targets and key priorities are identified in SEEDA's Women's Enterprise Strategy launched in 2008.

SEEDA also supports and manages the national UK 's Women's Enterprise Task Force (WETF).

This national Task force was established by Gordon Brown in November 2006 and held its first meeting in February 2007. Its role is to guide and focus action across the public and private sector to increase the quantity, scalability and success of women owned businesses in the UK. The Task Force is co-Chaired by Pam Alexander, Chief Executive, SEEDA.
Dr Glenda Stone, CEO, Aurora also chairs the WETF which reports directly to BERR.
