Head of Marketing and Communications (based in Guildford) We’re assembling a brand new communications team to raise SEEDA’s profile. As part of this team you’ll be pivotal in making sure the South East knows what we’re putting in place – whether it’s helping businesses through the credit crunch, investing in regeneration and sustainable growth or responding to new planning responsibilities. Working closely with our new Communications Director, your approach to improving our external profile will be proactive to say the least. Your media strategy will set an exceptional benchmark and draw upon all aspects of your extensive expertise. You will have managed media, events, web and publishing strategies from conception to completion in a number of organisations. Political awareness is a must and public sector experience is desirable. Proactively building on our current individual stakeholder relationships, you'll combine a solid strategy with consistent guidance and management to centralise them. You'll be confident working across the whole organisation bringing people and opportunities together. Whilst a large part of your role is politically focused, you need to be able to remain impartial so it's not appropriate that you're politically active as well. We’ve already started to improve the impact of our internal communications, now we need you to really build on this momentum. Your role is less about hindsight, and more about getting involved from the beginning. In fact, you’ll take the lead on key projects, such as delivering real improvements to cascade briefings and feedback systems. With a practical yet innovative approach to problems, you’ll certainly be able to change the way people operate across an organisation.
