Giving business in the region a strong and influential voice is the aim of Business South East - a new high level forum of leading businesses and employer organisations, created earlier this year. Members include representatives of organisations such as the CBI, IOD, FSB and the South East Chambers of Commerce. The group meet throughout the year to talk about some of the key issues affecting business in the region. Business South East brings together leaders representing 380,000 businesses that employ 3.2 million people and each year turn over £390 billion and export £28 billion worth of manufactured goods. They create the wealth that contributes £17 billion net a year to the Chancellor of the Exchequer – far more than any other UK region, including London. This engine of UK plc growth cannot be taken for granted. For more information contact: philbailey@seeda.co.uk. |
