What is RSS?

RSS stands for ‘Really Simple Syndication’. By subscribing to a RSS feed, you will be able to see all recent changes made to a particular website. At present, our website provides RSS on our press releases only.

To display a RSS feed you need an application called a news reader. Both IE7 and Firefox 2 come with pre-installed news readers. If you currently use IE6, you will require an application to provide these updates.

One of the most popular newsreader applications is provided free by Google and can be accessed online. NB: You will need to have a Google account to access but this takes only a moment to set up. You can set up an account using a pre-existing email address.

To get started, follow these steps:
1. Sign in or sign up to Google Reader, see link below.
2. To subscribe to SEEDA press releases, select ‘+ Add Subscription’.
3. In the search field, type in: http://www.seeda.co.uk/feed/pressreleases.xml.
4. Click ‘Add’.
5. Now, under your list of subscriptions, you will see ‘SEEDA Press Releases’. Click this link and a summary of the recent 10 releases are listed. The summary headings will link you through to the full article page.
